Gourd Head Dolls - click to enlarge

Cheryl Decker, a self taught artist, began creating and selling her whimsey mohair Hares and Teddy Bears more than 20 years ago in Farmington, Connecticut.

In the mid 1990's Cheryl and her family of people and dogs moved to the Midwest.

The year 1995, in the fields of Illinois, the seeds were planted, loads of gourds were harvested, and the "original gourd dolls" were born.

Her copyrighted gourd dolls are now sold at some of the finest folk art stores and garden shops across the United States.

Her dolls have been featured at the American Folk Art Museum in New York City, the Hagley Museum in Wilington, Delaware, the Museum of the Appalachians, and recently at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. These fall whimsies have also been a feature in Country Business magazine.

Enjoy these dolls. They will surely put a seasonal smile on your face.    - Cheryl
